community of Lynn Lake has evolved considerably since the
discovery of the nickel deposit that founded the community in
the 1950's. Today, Lynn Lake has many services and
business amenities to offer its residence and guests, and the
list is growing. Whether you are interested in
coming to our area as a tourist, an investor, a retiree or
other, and are looking for an affordable place to live in a
pristine natural setting to live in, Lynn Lake has something
for you!
Lynn Lake is the regional service
centre for Northwestern Manitoba. As a regional service centre,
education, health care, Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Conservation
District Office, Manitoba Transportation roads crew, and the
R.C.M.P. extend respective services into the region. In town, businesses
include a Northern Store, Video Store, 2 hotels, 2 restaurants,
a Legion, Auto Garage, Esso gas station, a jewelry store, Pro
Hardware store, Stittco Propane, Clarke’s Variety, and a B & B.
A strong and robust economy of Lynn Lake would benefit the
region.
The municipally owned and operated airport
maintains regularly scheduled, charter and seasonal air service
utilizing its 5,000 sq. ft. runway. The Airport’s
infrastructures is among the best in the North, and includes
upgraded runway lighting, 100 LL and Jet A1 with FSII fuel
sales, groundside commercial development opportunities, and free
vehicle parking. The Eldon Lake waterbase supports floatplanes,
and a number of area lodges use Lynn Lake as a supply/expediting
centre. An on-staff physician from Lynn Lake flies to regional
communities for medical purposes. The Leaf Rapids Health Centre
is administered by the Lynn Lake Hospital.
