The geography of Lynn Lake is characterized by hilly as well as flat terrain, many lakes and rivers, the pristine Canadian boreal forest and abundant wildlife.  The weather of Lynn Lake offers cold nights and sunshiny days with snowfall throughout the winters.  Ice conditions vary throughout the winter, and from year to year, but nonetheless is a regular part to winters.  Warm and friendly people who are quick to help others, live here.

Lynn Lake was built in the early 1950s to develop mines.  The town’s current population of 800, is far less than what it was (over 3,000) when there were multiple mines operating.  What this means to you is affordable real estate, excess capacity, advanced infrastructure for a northern location, and a varied transportation system.  Given the small population far removed from an urban centre, a greater measure of confidence is enjoyed when secrecy is essential.

Although no longer active, for close to a decade, National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) in collaboration with scientists and engineers from universities and research institutions around the world conducted high altitude research using balloons.  Annually, there were as many as 60 scientists and engineers that lived here for many months during the summers.  NASA still leases property in Lynn Lake, and plan to continue their high altitude scientific research.
