Lasthope Lake Gold Project
The Lasthope Lake Gold Project is located 15 miles southeast of Lynn Lake, Manitoba in the Lynn Lake Greenstone Belt. The Lasthope property is underlain by rocks of the Wasekwan Series comprised of biotite-origoclase-hornblende schist (mafic tuff), fine- grained grey, feldspathic quartzite and magnetite, hornblende, biotite and quartzite. Narrow felsic porphyry intrusives concordant with the foliation occur along the north and south margins of the main vein.
The main (Madole) vein outcrops for 735 feet and has been traced an additional 1,000 feet by drilling. The vein is fracture-controlled, strikes north 45 degrees west and dips 85 degrees southwest. It commonly ranges from 2.5 to 8.5 feet in width with local thickening up to 23 feet. The vein is composed essentially of white sugary quartz with small amounts of chlorite, minor pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena. Some free gold is reported from the higher-grade drill hole intersections.
Drill indicated proven, probable and possible mineable reserves are 888,000 tons grading 0.303 ounces per ton cut and undiluted to 1,600 feet. Potential of the deposit is estimated at more than 2,200,000 tons to a depth of 3,000 feet. These figures were calculated prior to NI43-101.
An independent Project Review Study by Kilborn Engineering where the next stage recommended is underground exploration is available.
W. Bruce Dunlop Limited is actively seeking joint venture partners to develop this deposit.
