Carlisle Goldfields Limited (Reworking the old MacLellan Mine)
• The company's principal properties consisting of 125 Mining Claims and 187 Mining Leases in the Lynn Lake Greenstone Belt of Northern Manitoba, covering 20,000 hectares, near the town of Lynn Lake.
• Included are the former producing BT and, Farley Lake Open Pit Mines which produced 292,200 ounces of gold, and the former MacLellan Mine which operated from 1986 to 1989 producing 143,984 ounces of gold.
• The MacLellan Mine property was first staked in 1950 and acquired by Agassiz Mines Ltd. in 1955. Sherritt Gordon Mines Limited acquired the property in 1979 and did further exploration and development from 1979 – 1985. The property was transferred to Sherrgold in 1986 and mining began with the company name being changed to Lynngold in 1988. Production at the MacLellan Mine commenced in January 1987, after a capital expenditure of $45 million. Mining ended in 1989 when tonnage/grade targets could not be met because of “excessive dilution/mining problems”, and the mine and mill put on care and maintenance.
• The southern part of the belt is the “Johnson Trend”. The Johnson Shear follows the belt for more than 40 kilometres and over 16 known gold occurrences are associated with this structure.
• Two significant mineralized zones are known, one with open pit grades (T1A Deposit) and one with potential underground mine grades (BT North Zone).
